Founder and President of Collegiate Staffing USA Passes Florida Bar Exam

ORLANDO, Fla., -- Mikaela Nix, founder and president of Collegiate Staffing USA, which links star graduates with employers in a wide range of fields, passed her Florida Bar exam and was recently admitted to practice law in Florida. She was sworn in by the Chief Justice of the Ninth Circuit Court while family and friends observed.

Nix, who graduated from Florida A&M College of Law in downtown Orlando, currently serves as adjunct professor at both Seminole State College in Lake Mary and Valencia Community College in Orlando and is Chair of the University of Central Florida’s Alumni Association’s Black Alumni Chapter.

Once she completed her undergraduate education and was hit with the “no experience” phenomenon, Nix said she started temping. “I loved it because I was able to meet a variety of different employers and gain valuable experience,” she explained.

She had been listening to colleagues with professional degrees talk about their struggle to get a good job after graduation due to not having enough experience for the employers and Collegiate Staffing USA started to develop into more than just an idea.

“Graduating from Florida A&M University College of Law gave me push I needed to just do it,” Nix said.

After working in a legal assistant position as a candidate for Boise, Shiller and Flexner through a temporary staffing agency, Nix knew she wanted to pursue law and also realized she wanted to start a company.

“The ‘experience’ everyone said I needed to be employed upon graduation, I received through temping,” she explained.

In addition, Florida A&M College of Law gave Nix tools needed to start Collegiate Staffing USA, such as inductive and deductive reasoning, analytical skills and the knowledge and understanding of employment laws.

“All of this is very helpful for consulting with my clients who are trying to cut costs, grow or reduce their own businesses or need assistance with social media marketing,” Nix said.

Collegiate Staffing USA is a member of the University of Central Florida Business Incubator program in the Central Florida Research Park.

NAI Realvest Puts Hudson Restaurant Property in Online Auction

ORLANDO, Fla. --- Paul P. Partyka, managing partner at NAI Realvest in Maitland, is going online to sell a 9,367 square foot restaurant building on a 2.8 acre site in Hudson to the highest bidder on May 11.

Partyka said the facility, located on S.R. 52 in Hudson between U.S. 19 and County Road 1, is well located on a busy thoroughfare, posts daily traffic counts that range between 30,000 and 63,000, surrounded by residential neighborhoods.

“It’s an excellent opportunity for development as a restaurant or for redevelopment with another use,” Partyka said.

Buyers of mid-range commercial facilities don’t often tour Hudson looking for opportunities.

“The online auction format offers us an excellent opportunity,” Partyka said. “We can present to a worldwide audience of potential bidders who are more interested in the facts---demographics, location, facility size, parking---than the general area,” he explained.

NAI Realvest designed a special web site for the auction at NAIauction.com/Hudson, and bids will be accepted online from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 11.
