ORLANDO - The University Club of Orlando will host a Cocktails for a Cause fundraiser reception on Thursday, Sept. 16, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Susan Greene, general manager of the University Club of Orlando, said Cocktails for a Cause events have raised more than $50,000 so far this year to benefit local civic, community and charitable organizations.
Volunteers from the beneficiary organization serve as bartenders at Cocktails for a Cause and all gratuities are donated to the charity.
Justin Wright, events director at the University Club of Orlando, said admission to the Sept. 16 Cocktails for a Cause fundraising event is free. Guests are encouraged to donate as generously as they can to Canine Companions.

University Club of Orlando Hosts Cocktails for a Cause to Benefit MicheLee Puppets, youngsters
ORLANDO - The University Club of Orlando will host a Cocktails for a Cause event from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25 to benefit MicheLee Puppets at the Club located on Central Blvd. and Rosalind Ave. in downtown Orlando.
MicheLee Puppets travel statewide to perform for schools and other organizations to teach and entertain youngsters age 5-18, delivering the messages that will empower them to focus on positive family values and overcome challenges.
Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres are served by volunteers from these benefit agencies and all gratuities are donated to the agencies, Justin Wright, events director at University Club of Orlando, explained.
Cocktails for a Cause events are open to the public and admission is free.
Over the past year Cocktails for a Cause events at the University Club of Orlando have raised more than $100,000 to benefit local civic, community and charitable organizations including the Special Olympics, Canine Companions PACE Center for Girls, Coastal Conservation, Friends of the Wekiva and many more, Wright said.

ORLANDO - The University Club of Orlando will host three Cocktails for a Cause Events in July, August and September.
Susan Greene, general manager of the University Club of Orlando, said Cocktails for a Cause events host charitable and civic groups that employ group leaders as guest bar managers. All gratuities are donated to the cause, Greene said, and Cocktails for a Cause events have raised more than $100,000 to support local civic and charitable organizations.

On Aug. 26, the University Club will host MichLee’s Puppets, which visits local schools to offer students life lessons and character-building exercises. The Cocktails for a Cause event is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
On Sept. 26, the University Club will host Canine Companions, which trains dogs to serve as intelligent companions for disabled and elderly.

ORLANDO - The University Club of Orlando recently hosted “Cocktails for a Cause” to benefit the Coastal Conservation Association of Florida (CCA).
Petrea Litscher, communications and service director at the University Club of Orlando, said the event was hosted by club members Jennifer and Ray Kennedy.
Litscher said Coastal Conservation raised $9,000 during the event.
Last year, the Coastal Conservation Association of Florida’s Cocktails for a Cause event at the University Club raised over $10,000.
Litscher said the University Club’s fundraising efforts focus on a wide range of events including golf tournaments and scholarship funds. In 2009 the University Club of Orlando Foundation gave $50,000 for scholarships to local community colleges and universities.

University Club of Orlando Hosting “Cocktails for a Cause” Jan. 28 to Raise Funds for Coastal Conservation
ORLANDO - The University Club of Orlando and members Jennifer and Ray Kennedy will host “Cocktails for a Cause” Thursday, Jan. 28, to raise funds for the Coastal Conservation Assn.
Petréa Litscher, director of services and communications at the University Club of Orlando, said the event is open to the public and will feature a live auction and several raffle prizes.
In addition, Club staff the cocktail party and donate their tips to the Coastal Conservation Assn., which educates and promotes the public on conservation of present and future marine resources.
Last year, The University Club of Orlando’s Cocktails for a Cause event raised more than $10,000 for the Coastal Conservation Assn.
“Cocktails for a Cause has become a local institution that mixes good times with worthy local causes,” said Litscher.
“Admission is free and we typically raise several thousand dollars for our charitable organizations,” she said.
