Ride Green Scooters is First in Central Florida to Offer New Gorilla Motor Works 150-CC Scooter

WINTER PARK, Fla. --- Ride Green Scooters, which specializes in fuel-efficient gas and electric scooters priced from $1,099 to more than $2,500, is the first Central Florida dealer to offer the new Gorilla Motor Works “Pink Lady,” a high-powered scooter with a 150-cc motor that cruises easily at 55 mph and gets more than 80 miles to a gallon of gas.

Brian Schwartz, partner and general manager of Ride Green Scooters, said the Pink Lady retails for under $2,000---considerably less than its look-alike Vespa, whose pedigree affords an asking price that starts around $5,000.

“The Pink Lady will be one of our biggest sellers,” Schwartz said. “It has the look, and the quality is fantastic. It comes with front ABS disc brakes and a high-quality gloss paint that’s a real eye-catcher. And for a limited time we’re offering free test rides, “Schwartz said.

And at 80 miles or more per gallon or better, Ride Green’s Pink Lady is apt to catch more than just eyes.

Ride Green Scooters is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and Sunday by appointment at 671 W. Fairbanks Ave., Winter Park. Visit www.ridegreenscooters.com.

Climbing Gas Prices Push Demand For Fuel-Efficient Scooters

WINTER PARK - Every time a news outlet breaks the news that gasoline prices have risen again, six to eight new customers visit Ride Green Scooters in Winter Park.

“It’s like clockwork anymore,” said Brian Schwartz, who opened Ride Green Scooters on Fairbanks Ave. two years ago. “The fear of increased transportation costs drive customers to our dealership, in hopes of saving money in a down economy.”

Schwartz specializes in sales of fuel-efficient transportation that comes with more frills than you would expect and one or two thrills in the bargain.

“We sell scooters that get up to 100 miles per gallon and we sell scooters that will cruise all day at 75 miles per hour or better,” Schwartz said.

Smaller scooters have an added advantage, Schwartz said. With less than a 50 cc engine displacement, they don’t require a motorcycle endorsement to operate on city streets and county roads.

“In addition to the gas powered scooters, Ride Green offers a new DUI Scooter – which is fully electric and does not require any driver’s license.

“Workers who have lost their license and can’t match their work schedule with the bus schedule have a way to commute to their jobs conveniently and economically,” Schwartz explained.

Schwartz said news about gasoline prices create the most demand for his scooters.

“Prices are projected to hit $4 a gallon this summer and maybe as high as $5,” Schwartz said.

“Gasoline in the U.S. is approaching the cost of petrol in Europe and Asia, where most people ride scooters as their principal means of transportation,” he said.

Schwartz said energy-efficient scooters are better for the environment than full-sized automobiles and he can go that one better.

“Electric scooters offer excellent driving range, easy recharge and fuel efficiency that’s equivalent to more than 110 miles per gallon,” he added.

Ride Green Scooters is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and Sunday by appointment at 671 W. Fairbanks Ave., Winter Park. Visit www.ridegreenscooters.com.

Compendium Software Systems, LLC Launches Web-Based Fuel Efficiency Clearinghouse FuelClinic.Com

SANFORD - Compendium Software Systems, LLC recently launched FuelClinic.com, a web-based information clearinghouse that focuses on improving fuel efficiency by improving driving techniques.

Michael Bragg, founder and chief technical officer at Compendium Software Systems, said FuelClinic.com is a global web community with more than 3,300 registered users in the U.S., Canada, Australia, Brazil, the U.K., and Europe. FuelClinic.com should host more than one million users worldwide within five years, Bragg projects.

“If we can grow to help a million motorists improve their fuel efficiency by just 5 or 10 percent, imagine the impact that would have on fuel costs and emissions,” said Bragg.

Registration at FuelClinic.com is free for non-commercial use. The site offers a wide range of information about methods for improving fuel economy, online tools to track users actual fuel mileage over time, and training materials and provides the important performance feedback to motivate motorists to continue to improve their fuel efficiency, Bragg said.

“The easiest way to immediately start saving gas money and reduce dependency on fossil fuels is to learn how to get the most out of every drop of fuel we burn,” Bragg explained. “FuelClinic.com provides users information on how to maximize fuel economy, cut fuel costs and carbon emissions, while reducing vehicle operating costs, traffic congestion, insurance rates and accidents,” Bragg explained.

A commercial version of the software is currently in development.

Ride Green Scooters a Big Hit at UCF Housing Fair

ORLANDO, Fla. --- Ride Green Scooters of Winter Park---the new venture by Orlando entrepreneur Ron Schwartz that markets fuel-efficient scooters priced from under $1,000 rated at 75-110 miles per gallon---was a big hit at the University of Central Florida Housing Fair on the east Orlando campus recently.

“About 3,000 students attended the Housing Fair and at least 1,000 of them visited our exhibit,” Schwartz said.

Located on Fairbanks Ave. in Winter Park, Ride Green Scooters has recently received two new 2010 models adding to its Jonway and Shenke motor scooter inventory. Both are made in China.

“We are one of the first dealers to import these two new models in the Orlando region and they are selling well,” said Brian Schwartz, managing partner. Both scooters offer versions that range from 50-cc to 250-cc and feature upgraded suspensions and disc brakes.

“For more than half the world’s population, these energy-efficient vehicles are the principal means of transportation,” said Schwartz. “Most UCF students see them as an ideal solution to the on-campus parking shortage,” he added.

Ride Green Scooters offers a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week road service program for all participating scooter owners and expert scooter maintenance and repair on all models is available at the Ride Green Scooters Showroom and Garage at 671 W. Fairbanks.

Ride Green Scooters Extends Service Hours to Keep Up With Demand

WINTER PARK, Fla. - Ride Green Scooters, the new Winter Park dealership that specializes on high gas mileage, low cost scooters for cost-conscious commuters, has extended its service hours to seven days a week.

“We have seen a huge surge in maintenance and repair business since we opened,” said Brian Schwartz, a principal of the company. “Scooters are very popular in the Central Florida region, and there aren’t many service and repair resources for the Asian motor scooters,” he said.

“Ride Green Scooters also offers a 24-hour seven-day a week road service through Nation Safe Driver’s Auto Club 800-338-2680 in case of breakdowns,” Schwartz added.

Schwartz said he recently appointed Max Ogden chief mechanic at Ride Green Scooters. Ogden has more than 10 years of experience as a scooter mechanic.
