CELEBRATION, Fla. – Kings Ridge Golf Club, located at 1950 Kings Ridge Blvd. off U.S. 27 in Clermont, will host a golf tournament on Saturday March 12 to participate in the day long celebration of the community’s 15th anniversary.
Terese Holt, spokesperson for Kings Ridge Golf Club, which is under the ownership of Celebration Golf Management, said the shotgun tournament’s entry fees range from $15 to $45 plus tax, including cart.
Holt said awards and prizes will be provided.

2011 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Winner D.A. Points Is Member of Golden Bear Golf Club in Windermere
ORLANDO, Fla. --- PGA Pro D. A. Points, a member of the Golden Bear Golf Club in Windermere, won his first PGA Tour tournament Sunday after sinking a 100-yard gap wedge for an eagle on the 14th hole in the 2011 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament with celebrity Bill Murray, star of the comedy classic Caddyshack.
Gene Garrote, president of Celebration Golf Management, which owns and operates the Golden Bear Golf Club, said Points’ final-round 67 gave him a 17 under par total of 271 and a two-stroke victory over Hunter Mahan, who shot a 66 to jump over nine players into second place.
“Everyone at Golden Bear is excited for him,” Garrote said. “We’ll be talking about this one for a while,” Garrote said.

Plantation Bay Golf & Country Club to Host Fundraising Events to aid American Cancer Society
ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - Plantation Bay Golf & Country Club will host two fundraising events in October to aid the American Cancer Society.
Rosemary Messina, vice president of sales and marketing, said ICI Homes and Plantation Bay will host a “Rally for the Cure” Battle Against Breast Cancer. Golf Tournament & Luncheon starting at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15 will be held at Club de Bonmont.
Friday, October 23, Florida Hospital, Wellness on Wheels will be parked in the parking lot accepting appointments 9-3. Appointments can be made by calling 386-231-3355.
On Saturday, Oct. 24, ICI Homes and Plantation Bay will host “Blast Out Cancer” starting with a Survivor Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Events include a 5K Walk that starts at 8:15 a.m., a 10K Bike Ride that starts at 9:15 a.m. and a Tennis Round Robin starting at 10:30 a.m., Messina said.
A massage therapist, esthetician, and physical therapist will be on hand for the entire event, along with Pro Fit Shoes representatives, Ice-Cream by Sally’s, Gift Basket from Noah’s Market among others.
Registration for the event is $25, which includes T-Shirt.
ICI Homes will present a three-day, two-night vacation at Lighthouse Key Resort in Orlando as Grand Prize to the top fundraiser during these events, Messina said.
All proceeds from both events will be contributed to the American Cancer Society, Messina said.
