RedTail at Heathrow Golf Community Revives Dream of Country Estate Homes with Luxury Golf Course
ORLANDO - RedTail, a Heathrow golf community, located west of Heathrow in Sorrento, is reviving the tradition of luxury country club homes in Central Florida, starting at $399,999.
Richard D. Bavec, project general manager at RedTail, said the award-winning RedTail Golf Club, a links-style layout designed by Dave Harman and dotted with century-old oak trees and azaleas, ranks as one of the region’s finest courses.
Brentwood Custom Homes, one of RedTail’s “Builder Partners,” has a four-bedroom, three-bath luxury home available for sale at RedTail with 2,415 square feet of living space priced at $399,999.
Luxury homes at RedTail are selling, Bavec said. Recently, a custom built, five-bedroom home with a six-car garage overlooking the tenth green, sold for $1.55 million.
“The luxury homes market is less affected by the real estate downturn compared to the rest of the housing market,” Bavec said. “Luxury golf estates, oceanfront condominiums and Manhattan apartments probably rank among the most desired examples of luxury lifestyles and we’re beginning to see a strong comeback here at RedTail,” Bavec said.
There are 24 home sites available in the current phase at RedTail. The community’s covered bridge entrance is located along SR 46A just north of SR 46 in Lake County. The new home sales center opens Monday through Saturday at 9 a.m. and on Sunday at 11 a.m.

NAPLES - Lennar reports it sold a record 29 new homes in February at Heritage Bay, a gated golf and country club resort community located on Immokalee Road east of I-75 in Naples.

Lennar Reports Brisk Sales of Terrace Condominiums, Luxury Verandahs at Heritage Bay Golf & Country Club
NAPLES - Lennar reports that sales of Terrace condominiums and luxury Verandah homes are outpacing projections at Heritage Bay Golf & Country Club, located off Immokalee Rd. east of I-75 in Naples.
Matt Devereaux, director of sales for Lennar in the Naples/Fort Myers region, said more than half of the Terrace condominium units in the newest building have already sold out at prices starting from the mid-$100s, with construction set to start later this month.
Two buildings with 12 luxury Verandah homes have sold out and a third building is half sold out at prices ranging from the low $200s.
“We have seen a huge surge in interest coming from northeastern and Midwestern states, Canadian families and Europeans,” Devereaux explained.
One big reason for the sales surge is a marketing strategy Lennar launched nine months ago that includes free golf, tennis and country club membership with every new home purchase.
“Industry-wide, Florida home builders were deeply slashing their prices and devaluing their homes,” Devereaux explained. “We focused on adding as much value as possible. We reduced prices too, but adding free golf, tennis and country club membership adds a tremendous lifetime and lifestyle value that means much more than a price reduction,” he said.
