CELEBRATION, FL. --- Celebration Golf Management, Inc., (CGM) which owns and operates six golf clubs in the Central Florida area, has started construction of a $500,000 teaching and custom club fitting facility at Celebration Golf Club in Celebration.
Kenny Nairn, executive vice president of golf for CGM and golf director at Celebration Golf Club, said the center will be featuring PING n-Flight fitting software, launch monitors and the latest in interchangeable fitting equipment. Nairn was part of the n-Flight software pilot program that has developed into an incredible consumer experience and comprehensive player tool, he said.
The 2,100 square foot facility is scheduled to open at Celebration Golf Club this summer.

Stone Creek in Ocala Opens $4.2 Million Del Webb Model Home Center -- 10 Models Ready for Viewing
OCALA, Fla. --- Officials from the Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce joined Del Webb executives and trade partners to cut the ribbon opening a new $4.2 million model home center at Stone Creek, Del Webb’s newest active adult golf course community located at 6320 S.W. 89th Court Rd. in Ocala.
More than 2,000 potential home buyers visited Del Webb’s grand opening of its model park at Stone Creek on Saturday, Feb. 19 with food, refreshments, live music and 10 new models for viewing.

ABD'S Heritage Green at Providence Golf Community Reports Sales of 3 Luxury Homes in One Week at Average Sale Price: $550,000
PROVIDENCE, Fla. --- ABD Development Company, which is developing Providence Golf and Country Club, a community in the Loughman-Davenport area of Polk County, reported it sold three luxury homes in Heritage Green at Providence in less than a week recently.
David Kohn, president of ABD Development Company, said the average sale price of the homes was $550,000 each.
The luxury home sales spurred a mini-construction boom in the Heritage Green neighborhood: Kohn said ABD will start construction of two executive homes on the golf course at Heritage Green at Providence before April 1.
Both new homes will offer four bedrooms and four baths in 2,500 square feet of living space with two-car garages.
The new homes will be priced from $350,000. Kohn said.

Golf Management Group Hosts Course-Wide Fundraiser for Woman Seriously Injured in Auto Accident
CELEBRATION, Fla. – Celebration Golf Management – which manages award-winning golf courses in Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee – will host a Charity Putt-Off on Feb. 26 and 27 with the proceeds going to help with medical expenses for an Arizona teacher who suffered critical injuries in an automobile accident last month (January) in Phoenix.
The event, which will be held at some of CGM’s seven courses, will offer the golfer who gets closest to the pin each day at each course his or her choice of several prizes, according to Celebration Golf Management President Gene Garrote.
“We’re hoping to have a great turnout for this event with $5 for every attempt being donated to a much-needed cause,” Garrote said. “The grand prize for the golfer who makes the putt will receive a full GCM golf makeover, including free golf, new equipment and instruction.”
Golfers coming closest to the pin can choose from tickets to Disney World, SeaWorld, rounds of golf or hotel stays, he said.
The event, which has been dubbed “Rebecca’s Road to Recovery,” will support Rebecca Holzworth – a longtime friend of John Bixler, Celebration Golf Club’s event manager. It will be held at Celebration Golf Club; Legends Golf Club and King’s Ridge Golf Club, Clermont and Stoneybrook West Golf Club, Winter Garden.
Holzworth, a math teacher at Maricopa High School in Maricopa, AZ, sustained multiple broken bones and severe brain trauma in the Jan. 21 accident that has left her in intensive care in a Scottsdale hospital, unable to respond to verbal commands, according to family members.
The cum laude graduate of Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, was a four-year starter and two-year captain on the women’s volleyball team, and received an All-Ohio student athlete award for excellence in the classroom and on the court.
Bixler said the swelling in Holzworth’s brain is intense and has been the main concern for both the doctors and her family.
“Becca is the kind of person that always has a smile on her face. You can’t help but be in a good mood when you’re around her. Her recovery is going to be a long one and will require the support and prayers of many,” he said.

CELEBRATION, Fla. – Legends Golf Club in Clermont has appointed Jason Morris Golf Superintendent.
Gene Garrote, president and principal of Celebration Golf Management, which manages and owns Legends Golf Club, said Morris has 17 years of golf experience and six years in golf course management and maintenance. Morris formerly served as superintendent at Kings Ridge Golf Club, also in Clermont.
At the same time, Garrote promoted Chad Ferguson Golf Superintendent at Kings Ridge. Ferguson has three years of experience with Celebration Golf Management as a mechanic and was most recently the assistant superintendent at Stoneybrook West Golf Club. He replaced outgoing golf superintendent Jason Morris, who was promoted to golf superintendent at Legends.
Garrote also promoted Chris Howell to Events Manager at Stoneybrook West Golf Club in Winter Garden. Howell has 12 years of experience in the golf industry, the last three as a member of the golf course staff at Legends.

PROVIDENCE - Providence Golf Club in Davenport in Polk County plans to host a Providence Club Marathon for Central Florida Realtors in early spring with prizes, awards and a midnight “shot in the dark” hole in one contest to win a new Cadillac Escalade.
