Ride Green Scooters relocating to expanded space

Winter Park, Fla. – Ride Green Scooters, the Winter Park firm that markets a wide range of gas and electric motor scooters that boast 100 miles per gallon or more, is relocating to new quarters across the street from their current West Fairbanks Ave. location.

Brian Schwartz, general manager of Ride Green Scooters, said the new location at 700 W. Fairbanks Ave. provides four times the space of current facilities.

Schwartz said the new location includes 1,200 square feet of space for maintenance and repair facilities.

“We service all makes and models, and our maintenance and repair department has just exploded,” Schwartz said.

Schwartz said the move takes place over the July 4th weekend.

“We’ll be open for business on July 5 in our new home,” Schwartz said.

Six Students Named Recipients of the Mayor Richard T. Crotty-Valencia-UCF Alumni Associations 2+2 Scholarship

ORLANDO, Fla., Six students — four who graduated from Valencia College to the University of Central Florida and two who graduated from high school in Osceola County to attend Valencia College — were named recipients of the Richard T. Crotty-Valencia-UCF Alumni Association’s 2+2 Scholarship recently.

Crotty, who now serves as executive vice president of Crossman & Company in Orlando, formerly served as Orange County Mayor.

John Crossman, president of Crossman & Company, said four scholarship recipients earned their A.A. Degrees from Valencia College and transferred to the University of Central Florida: Devin L. DaPonte; Gabrielle K. Dennen; Francoise Kogan; and Susannah J. Snavely.

Two high school graduates earned Richard T. Crotty-Valencia-UCF Alumni Association’s 2+2 Scholarship grants to attend Valencia College: Mathieu M. Hill, who graduated from the Osceola County School for the Arts, and Ryan C. Longson, who graduated from St. Cloud High School.

Grub Taxi Launches New Easy-To-Use Website with added options for companies who need meetings catered

ORLANDO, Fla. --- Grub Taxi LLC, the restaurant home and business delivery service that serves more than 100 restaurants in the Central Florida region, has launched a new easy-to-use website for access to menus and pricing to submit orders for fast delivery.

First Green Bank in Lake County reports loans, deposits up more than 50 percent over the last year

Eustis, Fla. --- Lake County’s First Green Bank, which has locations in Eustis and Clermont and plans to open a new 11,800 square foot headquarters facility in Mount Dora in mid-summer, reports its loan volume increased almost 50 percent during the year from May 2010 to May 2011, and its deposits have increased by more than 50 percent.

Kenneth E. LaRoe, chairman and chief executive officer of First Green Bank, said First Green reported year-to-date assets of $130 million as of June 1, up from $95 million during the same period last year.

Deposits of $123 million on June 1 were up more than 50 percent over last year’s mid-year total of $79 million.

LaRoe said he is most pleased that the bank’s year-to-date loan volume increased from $63 million at the mid-year mark in 2010 to more than $94 million on June 1, 2011.

“We have all heard how difficult it is to secure bank financing in this economic cycle,” LaRoe said. “At First Green Bank we are committed to serving our communities, and sound lending policies are the best way we know to stimulate the local economy,” he said.

WeinPlus to provide Risk Mitigation Services for 300,000 square foot Gallery at Westbury Plaza in Westbury, NY

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. --- WeinPlus Real Estate Advisory Services in St. Petersburg has been awarded a contract to provide risk mitigation services for Equity One’s Gallery at Westbury Plaza currently under development in Long Island.

Rachel Elias Wein, AIA, founder and principal of WeinPlus Real Estate Advisory Services in St. Petersburg, said the 300,000 square foot Gallery at Westbury Plaza is located between Westbury Plaza, which is also owned by Equity One, and the Roosevelt Mall, one of the highest grossing malls in the country.

Developers of the Gallery at Westbury Plaza are currently negotiating leases with high-end retailers. The mall is designed to meet LEED certification standards, Wein said.
