Port Orange Personal-Injury Law Firm Donates 100 Bicycle Helmets to Port Orange Police Department

PORT ORANGE – The Port Orange-based law firm of Rue & Ziffra recently donated 100 bicycle helmets to the Port Orange Police Department for the agency’s free helmet program.

The helmets – which are available on a first-come, first-serve basis – are free to children under the age of 16. Florida law states that children under age 16 must wear an approved helmet when riding a bicycle.

“We’re happy to donate to this cause as one of our practice areas is bicycle accidents,” said Allan Ziffra, president of the longtime personal-injury law firm. “And, the helmet donations are geared toward bicycle safety.”

Mercantile Capital Corporation reports five commercial loan closings in September to finance projects worth nearly $14 million

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. --- Mercantile Capital Corporation, which ranks as one of the nation’s leading providers of U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 504 loans for small business owners, closed five commercial loans in September to finance projects worth more than $13.8 million in total project costs.

Chris Hurn, chief executive officer at Mercantile Capital Corporation, said the largest single loan in September was for the $9.8 million refinance of a plastic surgery center in Utah.

Hurn reported Mercantile Capital closed on 19 loans during the third quarter to finance projects totaling more than $55.7 million in total project costs. Through the first three quarters of 2011, the company closed loans worth $124.85 million, a 33.07 percent increase over the same nine-month period last year, Hurn said.

Cuhaci & Peterson Architects Named to Design Remodeling for Sweet Bay Grocery Store in St. Pete

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. --- Emerson International reports it has closed on two new long term lease agreements at Major Plaza I, located on Kirkman Rd. in Southwest Orlando.

Eric Emerson, vice president and general manager of Emerson International, said Commercial Portfolio Director Kenneth Koch negotiated both lease agreements.

Hendricks & Partners Negotiates sale of 68-unit Windward Apartment Property in East Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. --- Hendricks & Partners, the nation’s largest multi-family property advisory group, recently negotiated the sale of the 68-unit Windward Apartments property at 1744 Bowen Drive in East Orlando for $1,600,000.

Cole Whitaker, Southeast partner for the firm and Hal Warren, associate partner, negotiated the sale representing the seller. Nashville based Robbins Property Group acquired the property which was constructed in 1972.
