Rising Gas Prices Triple Sales of Fuel-Efficient Scooters at Ride Green Scooters in Winter Park

Winter Park, Fla. --- Rising gas prices during the past 60 days have more than tripled sales at Ride Green Scooters in Winter Park.

Ron Schwartz, general manager at Ride Green Scooters, said sales topped the $50,000 mark in February.

Schwartz said the average sale price of a scooter---Ride Green Scooters sells more than a dozen different models---is about $1,000.

“That’s very economical transportation, especially when you consider that some scooters do better than 60 miles per gallon,” Schwartz said.

Schwartz said scooter sales always increase with the price of gas. “Every year the price rises in the summer, and sales go up,” Schwartz said. “Then we get a second big boost when school starts, because of all the student commuters, and again during Christmas season,” he said.
