VOLUSIA LAW FIRM HELPS SPONSOR DEC. 3 GOLF TOURNAMENT TO BENEFIT FIREFIGHTER STRICKEN WITH CANCER

PORT ORANGE – The Port Orange-based law firm of Rue & Ziffra is helping a local firefighters’ union sponsor a golf tournament next month that will benefit a local firefighter who has cancer.

Craig Morrisey, a 27-year-old firefighter/driver engineer for Port Orange Fire and Rescue, recently was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called a desmoplastic small round cell tumor.

Port Orange Professional Firefighters Local 3118 is hosting the Dec. 3 tournament to offset the costs Morrisey is incurring as he battles the illness, according to Luis Gracia√, a partner in Rue & Ziffra’s personal-injury law firm.

“We’re very happy to be a part of an event to help someone who spends so much of his time helping others,” Gracia said.

The tournament – a four-person scramble – will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at the Golf Club at Cypress Head in Port Orange. Tickets, which include green fees, cart, lunch, door prizes and entrance in a VIP tent, are $75 per person.

Mattamy Homes U.S. Group reports sales of 25 new townhomes in 90 days priced from the $150s at Nona Preserve in Lake Nona area

WINTER PARK, Fla. --- Mattamy Homes reports it sold 25 new three-bedroom townhomes during the past 90 days priced from $153,990 at Nona Preserve off Narcoossee Road in Southeast Orlando.
