Golden Bear Golf Club in Windermere Re-opens with all new Champion Turf Greens, new 15th hole bulkhead

WINDERMERE, Fla. –The Golden Bear Golf Club at Keene’s Pointe in Windermere, (a Celebration Golf Management club) has re-opened after an early summer renovation with all new Champion Turf Greens and practice surfaces.

Carlos Puerto, general manager of The Golden Bear Club, said “The Jack Nicklaus signature golf course is finally showcasing the magnificent vistas its designer envisioned.”

“The greens are magnificent and we fully anticipate that Champion Turf Greens will live up to every expectation,” Puerto said.

Puerto added that the 15th hole at Golden Bear Golf Club has been refurbished with a new bulkhead.

In addition, new plantings have added to the beauty of the entire property.

Del Webb Stone Creek in Ocala to Host Tastings and Tours Event Sept. 8 at Stone Creek Grille


OCALA, Fla. --- Del Webb Stone Creek will host a Tastings and Tours event on Sept. 8 at the Stone Creek Grille, the community’s 18-hole championship golf course clubhouse and restaurant, located off SW 80th Avenue in Ocala.

Sean C. Strickler, vice president of sales for Pulte Group, which is developing Del Webb Stone Creek, said Tastings and Tours will focus on several delectable menu items the golf course Grille is unveiling for the first time.

“We’re inviting the entire community to come in and sample our new menu, meet some of our current residents and tour all ten model homes and community amenities, including the Reflection Bay and Elan Spa, 29 acres of gardens, 18-hole championship golf course and the Stone Creek Grille,” Strickler said.

The new Grille menu offers a variety of unique and fresh dishes infused with Hawaiian, Italian and Californian influences. Consider: Pineapple and Chicken Kabob, fire-grilled with sweet teriyaki dipping sauce; Angel Hair Pasta Primavera with sun-dried tomato pesto, roasted seasonal vegetables, and portabella mushrooms; Lump crab and Citrus Salad with apple, arugula and toasted almonds; Filet and Wedge Salad with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, crispy onion rings, blue cheese dressing and fire grilled tenderloin; and a Peach and Spinach Salad with baby spinach, spring mix, red onion, grape tomatoes, peaches, grilled shrimp, and hazelnut dressing.

The event is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 and admission is free.

ICI Homes Appoints Lenny Sanclemente Purchasing Manager

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. --- ICI Homes has appointed Lenny Sanclemente purchasing manager for the eastern Florida region.

Rosemary Messina, vice president of sales and marketing at ICI Homes, said Sanclemente has more than 12 years of experience in the homebuilding industry, and attended Daytona State College where he majored in psychology.

Sanclemente, a resident of Port Orange, was formerly a purchasing agent for Ashton Woods Homes in Maitland.

Eagle Creek Golf Club to Host Orlando Orthopaedic Foundation Center Open Sept. 22

ORLANDO, Fla. --- Eagle Creek Golf Club, a Celebration Golf Management course off Narcoossee Road near Lake Nona in Southeast Orlando, will host the Orlando Orthopaedic Foundation Center open golf tournament Saturday, Sept. 22, to benefit the foundation’s three main initiatives in the Central Florida Community: orthopaedic research; injury prevention and youth athletics; and community education and outreach.

Gene Garrote, president of Celebration Golf Management, said tournament participants will receive a continental breakfast, complimentary range times, a post-event awards luncheon, two complimentary tickets for the beverage cart and a social tournament gift for each player.

Celebration Golf Management manages the Eagle Creek Golf course.

The four person scramble tourney will feature a hole-in-one contest, longest drive contest, closest to the pin and team prizes, said Stephen Horne, director of sales for Celebration Golf Management.
