Permitting Specialist at Cuhaci & Peterson Architects Appointed to County Board to Streamline Permitting Processes

ORLANDO, Fla. --- Bill Tomala, Government Relations and Permit Coordinator at Cuhaci & Peterson Architects in Orlando, was recently appointed to an Orange County Task Force charged with reviewing County regulations to streamline the permitting process.

Lonnie Peterson, chairman of Cuhaci & Peterson Architects LLC, said Tomala has substantial experience negotiating the county’s sometimes labyrinthine regulatory requirements.

“Regulatory requirements have a sound purpose to assure quality design and construction throughout Orange County,” Peterson said. “The problem arises when several different agencies over several years insert specific requirements that sometimes overlap and are sometimes obsolete,” he said.

Tomala is well versed in county regulatory requirements.

“Bill Tomala is responsible for meeting regulatory requirements for a wide variety of commercial and residential projects, from the handicap ramps we design pro bono for clients of the Center for Independent Living to large scale retail, office, medical and food service environments,” Peterson said.

Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs appointed the task force.

“Mayor Jacobs is on the right track and we applaud her efforts,” Peterson said. “If we can streamline the regulatory and permitting process we can maintain Orange County’s high standards and reduce the cost of design, development and construction,” Peterson said.

Crossman & Company Completes Lease Agreements for nearly 25,000 Square feet of Retail Space in Casselberry, College Park and Clermont

ORLANDO, Fla. --- Crossman & Company, one of the largest retail leasing and management firms in the Southeast, recently closed three new long-term lease agreements for retail space totaling 24,914 square feet in Casselberry, College Park and Clermont.

Courtney Kowalchuk, vice president of leasing at Crossman & Company negotiated the transactions and she represented the landlords at the retail facilities.

Kowalchuk represented Greater Properties Inc. in a seven-year renewal agreement with Planet Fitness for 18,900 square feet in Greater Marketplace II at Sausalito Blvd. and S.R. 436 in Casselberry.

In College Park, Citation 35, LLC d/b/a iStudio Salons leased 4,740 square feet for 10 years at 2211 Edgewater Drive. Kowalchuk represented Princeton Center, LLC. and Scott Corbin of Colliers Arnold represented the tenant.

Titan Enterprise, LLC d/b/a Clarity Salon and Day Spa is the new tenant who leased 5,304 square feet for five years at 15701 SR 50 in the Gateway Center in Clermont. The tenant was represented by Karen Wentzell of Schmid Properties.

ICI Homes’ Plantation Bay plans summer tennis and golf camp for kids aged 6-15 starting in June

ORMOND BEACH, Fla – Plantation Bay Golf & Country Club in Ormond Beach will host a summer golf and tennis camp for children aged 6-15 in one week sessions (Mondays through Fridays) from June 13 through Aug. 12.

Campers can register for full day or half-day sessions, and one day sessions are also available on a space-available basis, according to Rosemary Messina, vice president of sales and marketing for ICI Homes, the developer of Plantation Bay

Camp Director Dave Brown, a USPTA master tennis professional and Director of Golf John Powell PGA, will conduct the sessions, Messina said.

Full day sessions from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday cost $215 for Plantation Bay members and residents and $225 for non-residents, Brown said. Rates for a second child are $205 and $215. A third child can be added for $195 and $205.

Half-day, one-week sessions, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. cost $115 for residents or members and $130 for non-residents. Rates for a second child are $100 and $120, and a third child can be added for $90 and $110.

Camp participants will have the opportunity to learn tennis strokes, forehand, backhand, serves and volleys. Golfers will learn to grip the club, full swing, pitching, putting and course play.

Brown said swimming is also included.

Participants will be grouped according to age and abilities, Brown added.
