Allegiant Air Announces Nonstop Service to Duluth, Minnesota from Orlando Sanford

SANFORD, Fla. – Allegiant Air and Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) announced today scheduled, nonstop, low-fare service beginning Nov. 20 to Duluth International Airport (DLH), in Minnesota. Located on Lake Superior and near the border of Wisconsin, the airport is positioned to serve all of Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin. Allegiant Air is offering introductory fares as low as $89.99* each-way to celebrate the convenient new service.

Service will operate two times weekly on Monday and Friday. Flights will depart Orlando Sanford at 8:00 a.m. and arrive in Duluth at 10:35 a.m. Return service will depart Duluth at 11:15 a.m. and arrive in Orlando Sanford at 3:45 p.m. (all flight times are local). Allegiant will utilize 150-seat, MD-80 series jet aircraft on the route.

Allegiant’s $89.99* one-way introductory fare is limited, not available on all flights and must be purchased by Sept. 30, for travel through Feb. 10, 2010. After the introductory fare period, regular one-way fares on the route start as low as $99.99* one-way. Offer is not available for travel Nov. 25-30, Dec. 22-31 and Jan. 1-4, 2010. Cuhaci & Peterson Architects Completes Design for Six Handicap Ramps for Underprivileged Homes

ORLANDO, Fla. - Cuhaci & Peterson Architects, LLC, based in Orlando’s Baldwin Park, recently completed design work to build six residential handicap ramps in the Orlando area. The volunteer services are provided on a pro bono basis for homes of underprivileged families.

Lonnie Peterson, chairman of Cuhaci & Peterson Architects, LLC said the firm is working with Center for Independent Living to design the new ramps.

“Each of the ramps would cost approximately $3,000 to $5,000 to design and build commercially,” Peterson said, “and they are essential to the lives of the people who are affected.”
“Center for Independent Living utilizes volunteers and donated supplies to build the ramps at no cost to the families,” Peterson added.

UCF Business Incubation Program and the City of Sanford Hosts Grand Opening of UCF Sanford Business Incubator in Downtown Sanford

SANFORD, Fla. - The University of Central Florida Business Incubation Program and the City of Sanford hosted a grand opening recently to showcase the new UCF Sanford Business Incubator facility at 110 W. First St. in downtown Sanford.

Dr. Tom O’Neal, founder and executive director of the University of Central Florida Business Incubation Program, said the new facility will create new jobs in Sanford and Seminole County.

“Successful business incubation has proved to be the most cost-effective strategy to stimulate the local economy,” Dr. O’Neal said.

“By providing expert support to qualified startup and small business enterprises, we can help them grow faster than the economic curve, and that means more and better jobs sooner than we might otherwise expect,” he said.

The new 3,800 square foot UCF Sanford Business Incubation facility offers office space, along with administrative, training and meeting space, O’Neal said.

O’Neal said Bob Tunis, director of the City of Sanford’s Economic Development division, Sanford Mayor Linda Kuhn, and Michael McLean, vice chairman of the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners attended the Grand Opening event for a brief ribbon cutting ceremony and tours of the facility. Other city, county and area business leaders were on hand as well.

The UCF Business Incubation Program now includes six locations with more than 100,000 square feet of space at Central Florida Research Park, UCF Campus, the City of Orlando, the City of Winter Springs, Leesburg and Sanford.

Since its founding in 1999, the UCF Business Incubation Program has helped more than 120 emerging companies (including over 75 current clients) create over $500 million in annual revenue and more than 1,600 new jobs with an average salary of $59,000. ORLANDO, Fla. - NAI Realvest recently completed the $1,100,000 sale of the 10,811 square foot Whistle Junction restaurant facility located at 3125 Columbia Blvd. in Titusville.

Paul P. Partyka, principal and managing partner at NAI Realvest, negotiated the sale representing the seller Sovereign Investment Company of Palo Alto, Calif.

The property was purchased by Titusville-based SBI Leasing, Inc.

Ride Green Scooters Extends Service Hours to Keep Up With Demand


WINTER PARK, Fla. - Ride Green Scooters, the new Winter Park dealership that specializes on high gas mileage, low cost scooters for cost-conscious commuters, has extended its service hours to seven days a week.

“We have seen a huge surge in maintenance and repair business since we opened,” said Brian Schwartz, a principal of the company. “Scooters are very popular in the Central Florida region, and there aren’t many service and repair resources for the Asian motor scooters,” he said.
