Lennar Reports Sales of 200 New Homes in Central Florida Region in July

ORLANDO, Fla. --- Lennar’s Central Florida Division reports it sold more than 200 single-family, manor, villa, vacation and town homes across the Central Florida area during the month of July.

Mark Metheny, president of Lennar’s Central Florida Division, which builds new homes in Tampa and the Orlando and Space Coast regions, said Lennar’s summer “Everything’s Included” promotion, which offers a wide range of upgrades and special features included in the cost, and a July promotion that offered zero down, zero closing costs and low-interest fixed-rate mortgage financing contributed to the sales surge.

“We have historically low interest rates, dramatically reduced prices, available inventory and exceptional special offers, so all the stars are aligned for the homebuying deal of a lifetime,” Metheny said.

Brevard County Component Procurement Company Reaping Benefits of Being Selected to Participate in State’s Economic Gardening Program

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. – SolTec Electronics, a three-year-old semiconductor and component procurement company, is already seeing the benefits of being selected in March for free technical assistance through the state-funded GrowFL program.

“The support we’ve been getting from the GrowFL family in the form of market and database research, as well as website optimization and SEO analysis, has helped us further develop our aerospace, government and testing divisions,” according to Dawn Gluskin, founder and chief executive officer. “Our GrowFL team also has provided us with very specific prospecting lists.”

Created in 2009 by the Florida Legislature, GrowFL is part of the Florida Economic Gardening Institute and is based at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, according to Dr. Tom O’Neal, executive director of the Florida Economic Gardening Institute.

When selecting companies to participate in the program, the institute looks for ones that have the potential to be successful, said Dr. O’Neal, who also is associate vice president for the University of Central Florida’s Office of Research and Commercialization.

“SolTec is an ideal candidate for the program as it has experienced rapid growth that has produced $3 million in annual revenues in less than three years,” he said.

The Rockledge-based company, which specializes in locating obsolete semiconductors and components, uses a world-wide network of suppliers to help clients keep their production lines up and running, said Gluskin.

And, while her company is still fairly small, the assistance from GrowFL is allowing her 14 employees to concentrate their efforts on other ventures.

“The work the GrowFL team has been doing for us has really freed up some extra time for our staff to work on other projects,” she said “And, our new sales hires are very excited to start working some of the new prospecting lists.”
