Allogy Interactive Pioneers Sustainable mLearning Program at International Leadership University in Nairobi, Kenya
Orlando, Fla. --- Allogy Interactive, which develops robust delivery systems for digital goods and services through software platforms for mobile devices recently launched a pioneering mLearning system at the International Leadership University in Nairobi, Kenya.
Colin Forward, communications director for Allogy Interactive, said Allogy’s program enables colleges and universities to provide complete courses that are downloadable to mobile devices and allow students to access the resources.
“In effect, we can offer an entire university’s course catalogue, downloadable to mobile devices, to be studied and interacted with on the student’s schedule, and make it cost-accountable,” Forward explained.
Allogy Interactive launched a pilot program at International Leadership University last year and the preliminary results were impressive. Every one of the 34 mLearning students successfully completed their course work. Only 60 percent of a control group of 23 students who attended classes at the university successfully completed the course work, Forward said.
Allogy Interactive launched a second pilot earlier this year that included more features.
“We are able to offer an entire course and the students may download each component as they need it,” Forward said.
“In addition, the students and university instructors can interact with each other using their mobile devices just as if they were in a classroom together,” Forward said.
Students especially appreciated instant feedback on quizzes and tests, Forward said.
“We now have the technology to offer an entire university study program over a mobile device,” Forward said. “That means no more ‘late for class,’ no more lost notes, and the dog will never eat a student’s homework,” Forward said.
Allogy Interactive is a client of the UCF Business Incubation Program in the Central Florida Research Park in East Orlando.
