UCF Graduate and Serial Entrepreneur Launches New Venture BlurtBox.com

Orlando, Fla.   --- UCF Rosen School graduate Julien Meyer has launched yet another online venture.

BlurtBox.com provides restaurants and hospitality companies the opportunity to receive customer feedback via a “direct line” that is anonymous---something customers like---and private---something owners like even more.

“Private” is important.  Sites such as Yelp, TripAdvisor, Urban Spoon and others suffer from fake reviews and nasty “graffiti” that can be posted by anyone with anger they want to get off their chest.

And those reviews are public. In many markets, an off-the-wall review can seriously harm a business.

BlurtBox.com offers just the opposite---a “digital comment box” that allows customers to communicate immediately, anonymously, directly and privately with the business owners.

“Owners want to know what’s going on in their businesses, but if they own more than one location, it’s impossible for them to be everywhere at once,” Meyer explained.

“Hospitality businesses in particular need to collect qualitative data. Owners need to know what customers are thinking to provide the best customer experience, and they need to know right away so they can address the issue,” he said.

Meyer launched BlurtBox to provide honest feedback from customers in real time to business owners in a private dashboard.

“That means business owners can use reviews to actually improve their business and not be afraid of online public reviews,” Meyer said.

“BlurtBox is a simple and inexpensive solution. BlurtBox gives all customers the power to comment and communicate directly with owners and positively impact businesses that they care about,” Meyer said.

Meyer started CollegeTKTS.com during his junior year at UCF to sell concert tickets at a discount to university students and parlayed his success into the acquisition of CollegeStack.com.  Meyer’s companies are clients of the University of Central Florida’s Business Incubation Program at the Central Florida Research Park in East Orange County.
