First Green Bank moves into unique new Mount Dora headquarters facility, open house scheduled Feb. 4

MOUNT DORA, Fla. – First Green Bank, which has bank facilities in Clermont, and is now in its unique new 12,000 square foot headquarters facility in Mount Dora at 18251 U.S. Hwy. 441, plans to host a public “Grand Green Opening Celebration” on Feb. 4.

Kenneth LaRoe, chairman and chief executive officer of First Green Bank, said about 20,000 invitations to the open house will be sent to area residents. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m and will feature entertainment, food, and tours of the new headquarters building.

LaRoe said he expects a big turnout for the open house event.

First Green Bank’s new headquarters facility was designed and engineered as one of the most energy efficient buildings in Florida.

The facility is one of the first commercial buildings in Central Florida designed to exceed U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) most rigorous LEED Platinum Standard for energy efficiency, environmental quality, water conservation and use of sustainable building materials.

The USGBC recently named First Green Bank Central Florida’s Green Business of the Year.

“First Green Bank is a new kind of community bank that takes a conservative approach to environmental quality, good citizenship and personal service,” LaRoe said.

LaRoe worked closely with architects and engineers to design the facility, which employs cutting-edge technology to reduce energy needs for lighting, air conditioning and electrical power, durable construction materials drawn from renewable resources, and even an electrical recharge station for customers who drive electric cars.
