Sponsors, Golfers Sought for 6th Annual Oakley Seaver Memorial Golf Tournament Oct. 5

CELRMONT, Fla. --- Legends Golf Club, located three miles south of SR 50 off U.S. 27 at 1700 Legendary Blvd. in Clermont, will host the Kiwanis Club of Clermont’s 6th Annual Oakley Seaver Memorial Golf Tournament Friday Oct. 5. Jay Scruggs, general manager of Legends Golf Club, said proceeds from the Oakley Seaver Memorial Golf Tournament, will help fund four year higher education scholarships for some deserving at risk students from South Lake County who have made significant contributions to their school and community. Scruggs said the Kiwanis Club of Clermont has partnered with Take Stock in Children to administer the scholarships. Kathy B. Scherer, president of Kiwanis Club of Clermont and one of the organizers of the Oakley Searver Memorial Golf tournament, said the Kiwanis Club of Clermont is seeking sponsors and golfers for the tournament, as well as donations for the silent auction that will be held at the event. Sponsorship levels available are Title Sponsor at $5,000, a Presenting Sponsor at $3000, a Meal Sponsor at $1,000, All-in-One sponsor at $600, and Hole and Souvenir Hole Flag Sponsors at $300 and $200. Oakley Seaver’s son-in-law Hal Cummings is the original organizer of the memorial golf tournament, according to Scherer. “The late Oakley Seaver is well remembered for the time, energy and spirit he invested in the Clermont community and especially in the education of young people in our community,” Scherer said.
