PORT ORANGE – The Port Orange-based law firm of Rue & Ziffra recently helped the Tracy Dillon Mammogram Foundation raise more than $15,000 by matching the first 100 entry fees of $10 each for a poker run held recently by the Bikers for First Amendment Rights.
The event, dubbed the “Poker Run to Nowhere and All Day Jam,” was a fundraiser for the Tracy Dillon, a disc jockey at WHOG Radio Station 95.7 FM who has been diagnosed with cancer.
More than 100 bikers participated in the traveling hand of poker that also included live music, a silent auction, raffles, games and T-shirts.

DAYTONA BEACH – Tickets are on sale now for a fundraising block party the law firm of Rue & Ziffra is sponsoring on June 25 for members of Daytona Beach Fire and Rescue.
The event, which begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 25 along Seabreeze Boulevard in Daytona Beach, will include food, drinks and entertainment.
Highlights will be disc jockey D.J. Tremble from WVYB-FM 103.3 radio, who will be mixing jams live from the Rue & Ziffra tent, according to Jessica Eckelbarger√ spokeswoman for the Port Orange-based, personal injury firm.
“The proceeds from the block party are earmarked for a fund that helps local firefighters when they get hurt and can’t work,” Eckelbarger said.
The $25 admission includes an event T-shirt, event cup with refills, and entry into a variety of raffles, she said.

Volusia Law Firm to help sponsor “Denim and Diamonds” Ball to benefit America Cancer Society
DAYTONA BEACH – The Port Orange-based law firm of Rue & Ziffra is a gold sponsor of the inaugural Cattle Baron’s Denim and Diamonds Ball set for June 18 in Daytona Beach.
A fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, the five-hour event begins at 6 p.m. at the Daytona 500 Club, inside the Daytona International Speedway at 1801 W. International Speedway Blvd.
Organized by a volunteer committee, the annual ball is hosted by the Volusia-Flagler Unit Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society.
Highlights will include a performance by country music recording artist Heidi Newfield, food created by the Daytona 500 Club chef, dancing, exciting casino games and two auctions.
During both live and silent auctions, guests may place their bid for a BMW or other valuable items donated to the organization by generous sponsors, according to Allan L. Ziffra, president of the personal-injury law firm.
“We’re very happy to be a sponsor of an exciting event for the community that also helps a great organization like the American Cancer Society,” said Ziffra, whose firm also helps sponsor other ACS events like the annual Relay for Life run.

Volusia Law Firm Named "Partner of the Year" for its Support of Horizon Elementary

Veteran Malpractice Lawyer Named Partner in Volusia County Personal-Injury Firm
PORT ORANGE, Fla. – Attorney Kim E. Bouck has been made a partner at Rue & Ziffra, a 25-year-old Volusia County law firm with offices in Orange City and Port Orange.
Bouck specialized in medical malpractice cases for more than 20 years before joining the personal injury firm in 2005, according to firm President Allan L. Ziffra.
But, her previous expertise was in representing health care providers and insurance companies instead of injured plaintiffs, he said.
“Kim’s knowledge and experience from the opposite side of the courtroom – as well as her understanding of both side’s strategies – have proved invaluable to our firm and to our clients these past three-and-a-half years,” Ziffra said.
With a bachelor’s degree from University of West Florida and a juris doctor degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, Bouck is a member of the Volusia County Bar Association, the Florida Bar and the Florida Justice Association.
