ORLANDO, Fla. --- Stoneybrook West Golf Club has taken on a whole new look since Celebration Golf Management acquired the rambling Arthur Hills designed course one year ago, and Gene Garrote, president of Celebration Golf Management, promises more changes.
“Celebration Golf is a unique company with a long term view,” Garrote said. “Our entire effort aims at providing the ultimate golf experience with every outing, and so we invest our profits back into our golf courses, club facilities and amenities,” he said.
Celebration Golf owns and operates six Central Florida golf clubs, including the Jack Nicklaus-designed Golden Bear Club at Keene’s Point in Windermere, Legends Golf Club and Kings Ridge Golf Club in Clermont, and the legendary Celebrations Golf Club near Disney. The group also leases and manages Eagle Creek Golf Club in southeast Orlando.
Mark Bearss, general manager at Stoneybrook West said that since acquiring Stoneybrook West Golf Club, Celebration Golf has replaced all the bunker sand on the course, re-engineered all the drainage problems that hampered play in the past, and added a new fleet of golf carts, new driving range amenities and range balls.
Bearss also reopened the kitchen and banquet facilities.
Celebration Golf Management recently (April 29) marked its one-year anniversary of service at Stoneybrook.
“We are now providing the area’s most elegant banquet services for wedding, corporate and community events, and more importantly golfers,” Bearss said.
“We have an excellent chef, a skilled kitchen crew and we can produce a memorable event that will wow everyone who attends,” he said.
Bearss said one of the best new features at Stoneybrook West Golf Club is the clubhouse lunch.
“If you haven’t been out to Stoneybrook West recently, its time to come play here. But if you’re not in the mood to play, we serve one of the best lunch menus in Winter Garden, he said.
Soon, Stoneybrook West will offer an outdoor event lawn for ceremonies and banquets.
“We are blessed with such spectacular weather here we knew we needed an outdoor facility,” Bearss said.
This multi-use space, which can accommodate up to 200 guests, is going to be perfect for wedding ceremonies, cocktail parties, live music and outdoor wedding receptions. It will really enhance and complement this beautiful facility we already have,” Bearss said.
With lush landscaping and a beautiful cedar pergola and stage, Bearss said he expects to host many gatherings on the Event Lawn.
But one feature remains most prominent at Stoneybrook West: good golf.
“We have a talented staff, excellent facilities and one of the most rewarding golf courses in Central Florida,” Bearss said. “We can honestly offer the area’s best golfing experience and we’re proud to do so,” he added.
