August Outback Steakhouse Fundraiser to Benefit Volusia/Flagler Animal Rescue Group

ORMOND BEACH – Employees at the Ormond Beach Outback Steakhouse once again will show their charitable sides when they host an Aug. 11 luncheon to benefit the Rescued Hearts Animal Shelter’s Medical Care Fund.

For every $10 lunch served at the beachside restaurant, $5 will go directly to the animal group’s medical care fund, which helps provide care for dogs and cats in foster homes until they are adopted, according to Lynn Myers, RHAS president.

“This is the fifth fundraiser luncheon the Outback has hosted for us the past three years, and we are forever grateful, especially to the employees who work for free and often donate their tips from the day.”

The community is invited to join Rescued Heart’s volunteers, board members and other animal supporters at either 11:30 a.m. or 1 p.m., Myers said. Tickets luncheon include a choice of steak, grilled chicken or pasta entrée with bread, a choice of side, and a beverage.

Reservations can be made by calling 386-846-6114 and specifying a seating time. For details, email RHASoffice@yahoo.com or visit www.rescuedheartsanimalshelter.com.

Rescued Hearts, a 501(C)(3) non-profit agency, incorporated in 2008 to help find homes for animals in Volusia and Flagler counties. The agency’s long-term goal is to obtain land and construct a facility to help decrease local government’s cost to house or euthanize unwanted animals. Other goals are to establish an aggressive spay/neuter program, help animals stay at home to prevent the need for sheltering, and provide care and quality of life for animals.
