CLERMONT, Fla. --- Kings Ridge Golf Club recently hosted a nine-hole scramble tournament for 31 participants in the Fairways for Wounded Warriors golf program, which links wounded veterans with sponsoring clubs and volunteers to help rehabilitate and rejuvenate the returning veterans.
Jay Scruggs, general manager of Kings Ridge Golf Club, said four Kings Ridge Golf Club members played the round with each wounded veteran.
The tournament included prizes and a luncheon when play concluded.
Rocky Nicholson, a golf coordinator at Kings Ridge, helped organize the tournament.
At the same time, Scruggs said Kings Ridge Golf Club has been selling $3 souvenir American Flags to raise money for the Wounded Warriors project.
