WINTER GARDEN, Fla. --- Stoneybrook West Golf Club in Winter Garden will host Patriot Golf Day on Saturday Sept. 1 with a special offer for golfers: a special four-person scramble tournament with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and free play for active and retired members of the U.S. military.
Mark Bearss, general manager at Stoneybrook West Golf Club, said the Red, White & Blue tournament will mark Patriot Golf Day, when active and retired military personnel can golf for free.
“Space is limited so golfers need to book their play immediately,” Bearss said.
The golf tournament will include a luncheon at the conclusion of play.
Golfers will be invited to make a donation of $1 or more to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation, which provides post-secondary educational scholarships for children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving.
To date, more than 2,100 Folds of Honor Foundation scholarships have been awarded, Bearss said.
The fee to enter the tournament is $35. For more information, visit www.golfsbw.com or phone 407-877-8533.
