Blackton, Inc. reports uptick in sales of home builder supplies in Orlando, Tampa Regions

Orlando, Fla. --- Blackton. Inc., one of the region’s largest suppliers of wholesale materials and supplies to the home building industry, reports a big increase in sales to home builders in Orlando and Tampa. Michael “Micky” Blackton, chairman of the 59-year-old firm his father founded, reported one contract with KB Home that totals $5 million to supply roofing and flooring materials for 450 new homes planned at Etowha in Tavares, Avellino in St. Cloud near Lake Nona, and Silver Leaf in Sanford. Blackton earned a second contract recently with Maronda Homes valued at $4.5 million to provide roofing and flooring supplies for 500 new homes planned at Sugarmill Woods in Homosassa and Spring Hill in Hernando County near Brooksville. “After five slow years we’re starting to see a major revival of the home building industry and we anticipate a very busy year in 2014,” Blackton said.
