Eagle Creek Golf Club to Host British American Chamber Golf Tournament to Benefit “Dream Flight” Trip to Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. --- Eagle Creek Golf Club in East Orlando, a Celebration Golf Management course, will host more than 100 players for the annual British American Chamber of Commerce Tournament Friday, April 27, starting at 8:30 a.m.

Gene Garrote, president of Celebration Golf Management, said the tournament will benefit Dream Flight, which treats seriously ill and disabled British children to the holiday of a lifetime at Orlando-area attractions.

“This is such a worthy cause that it draws players from all over,” Garrote explained, “We are pleased and honored to host the tournament this year,” he said.

NAIOP Names Emerson International’s University Research Park I Central Florida’s Educational Development of the Year

ORLANDO, Fla. --- The Central Florida Chapter of NAIOP, the leading national association of commercial development professionals, recently named Emerson International’s University Research Park I in east Orlando Central Florida’s Educational Development of the Year.

Mattamy Homes U.S. Group reports best month of new homes sales since the company’s launch

WINTER PARK, Fla. --- Mattamy Homes U.S. Group, the U.S. division of Canada’s largest home builder, reported more sales of new homes in February than any month since the company launched in the U.S. in 2004.

Steve Parker, president of Mattamy Homes U.S. Group, said the home builder sold 81 new homes in 38 communities in Orlando, Jacksonville, Charlotte, the Twin Cities region of Minnesota and Phoenix.

Parker said Mattamy Homes saw 14 new home sales in Orlando, 19 in Jacksonville, 23 in Charlotte, 20 in Minnesota and 5 in Arizona.

Parker added that Mattamy Homes sold 169 homes since Jan. 1.

Mattamy Homes U.S. Group has opened 11 new communities over the past 12 months. “This year is shaping up to be our busiest one ever,” Parker said.

Rising Gas Prices Triple Sales of Fuel-Efficient Scooters at Ride Green Scooters in Winter Park

Winter Park, Fla. --- Rising gas prices during the past 60 days have more than tripled sales at Ride Green Scooters in Winter Park.

Ron Schwartz, general manager at Ride Green Scooters, said sales topped the $50,000 mark in February.

Schwartz said the average sale price of a scooter---Ride Green Scooters sells more than a dozen different models---is about $1,000.

“That’s very economical transportation, especially when you consider that some scooters do better than 60 miles per gallon,” Schwartz said.

Schwartz said scooter sales always increase with the price of gas. “Every year the price rises in the summer, and sales go up,” Schwartz said. “Then we get a second big boost when school starts, because of all the student commuters, and again during Christmas season,” he said.

Rhodes+Brito Architects start design work for 6,500 square foot Ocoee Community Center in Florida Vernacular Style

ORLANDO, Fla. --- Rhodes+Brito Architects, based in Orlando, has started design work for a new Ocoee Community Center that will be built across from City Hall in Downtown Ocoee.

Max Brito, co-founder and partner at Rhodes+Brito, said the 6,500 square foot facility will include a banquet hall, meeting rooms and warming kitchen.

Brito said the Florida Vernacular architectural style will complement Ocoee’s “Old Florida” historical look and feel.

Henin Groups’ Riviera Bella in DeBary unveils new luxury four bedroom floor plan with private courtyard, three car garage

DeBary, Fla. --- Riviera Bella, the luxury community Henin Group is developing on the St. Johns River in DeBary, recently unveiled a new four bedroom floor plan for a luxury home with a private courtyard and three-car garage.

Jerome Henin, founder and president of the Henin Group, said the two-story Antiqua comes in two versions.

“One is a four bedroom luxury home with two-and-a-half baths in 2,881 square feet of living space, a private courtyard and a three car garage with room for a boat,” Henin said.

The second version features five bedrooms and four-and-a-half baths in 3,681 square feet with a private courtyard and three car garage.

New luxury homes at Riviera Bella are priced from under $200,000 and feature river access.
