ORLANDO - Data Transfer Solutions, LLC (DTS), based in Orlando’s Avalon Park, recently earned two contract awards from the Colorado Department of Transportation and the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency in Nevada.
A. M. “Trey” Fragala III, AICP, PMP, chief operating officer at DTS, said the Colorado DOT extended its contract with DTS for another year at an estimated value of $112,000.
New work for Colorado DOT includes a Data Access User Needs Study and maintenance of the Online Transportation Information System (OTIS) that DTS developed for Colorado DOT.
OTIS includes six different applications that supply transportation information in the form of maps, pictures, tables, and reports, Fragala explained.
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency contract, valued at an estimated $50,000, includes work to enhance security, reporting and functionality of the Tahoe region’s Defensible Space Database, which includes the land area surrounding important structures such as communications towers and utilities.
“We are developing an online map viewer that will give planners a clear picture of the defensible areas they must protect in the event of wildfires,” Fragala explained.
“This information gives first responders the opportunity to stop fires from reaching important structures,” he said.
Data Transfer Solutions, LLC is an Orlando-based firm that provides asset management, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), transportation planning/engineering, web design, database/software applications, and video and multimedia production services to local governments and regional and state agencies throughout the U.S.
