Centex Starts Construction of Three Bedroom Vanderbilt Model at Riverwood in Port Charlotte

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. --- Centex has started construction of the Vanderbilt model home at Riverwood, a master-planned community overlooking the Myakka River west of SR 776 in Port Charlotte. Scott Mairn, vice president of sales and marketing for the company, said the Vanderbilt model offers three bedrooms, two baths and a den in 1,911 square feet of living area with a two-car garage, priced from the $230s. Mairn said the Vanderbilt model home will open before the end of February in Riverwood’s Fisher’s Landing neighborhood, which offers 70 single-family home sites. New two, three and four-bedroom Centex homes at Riverwood range in size from 1,557 square feet of living space to 3,193 square feet, priced from $155,990 to $360,990, Mairn said. Altogether, Riverwood includes more than 1,300 home sites. The gated resort-style master planned community, which opened in 1992, is 95 percent completed, and features an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Gene Bates, a private beach club with bar and grille, heated junior Olympic sized swimming pool, spa, Tiki bar, six Har-Tru tennis courts, three bocce ball courts, two horseshoe pits, fitness center, golf pro shop, billiards, library, arts and crafts room, dance floor and performance stage, dog park, tot lot, walking and biking trails and onsite boat and RV storage.
