New Coordinator for Research Programs/Services Hired for the University of Central Florida Business Incubator at Daytona Beach International Airport

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Gregory Smith, an urban developer and strategic planner from Trinidad, has joined the University of Central Florida Business Incubation Program at the Daytona Beach International Airport site as coordinator for research programs and services. With a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s in planning and development from the University of the West Indies in St. Augustine, Trinidad, Smith currently is pursuing an MBA in aviation at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and plans to transfer to the university’s Ph.D. program later this year. Smith holds several other certificates in planning, finance, project management, corporate governance and coaching. Before joining UCF’s Business Incubation Program, Smith was the lead graduate research assistant at Embry Riddle for RFID and GPS. He is a pilot and also an active volunteer with organizations such as the Living Life Christian Center. In his new position as coordinator for research programs and services, Smith will be responsible for Volusia County UCF Incubator Venture Lab, according to Connie Bernal√, the incubator’s site manager. “Gregory has an impressive business development background and the necessary skills to help Volusia County incubator clients do the research they need to be successful in their business ventures,” she said.
