King’s Ridge Golf Club Father-Son Team wins 2013 FSGA Parent-Child Championship at Walt Disney World Golf’s Oak Trail

CLERMONT, Fla. -- King’s Ridge Golf Club regulars Kirk and Kylan Johnson of Clermont won their Age 6-7 Division at the 20th Annual FSGA Parent-Child Golf Tournament held recently on the Oak Trail at Walt Disney World Golf in Orlando. Six-year old Kylan Johnson began golf lessons earlier this year with King’s Ridge Head Golf Professional Lee Williamson. “Kylan has a lot of ability and enjoys playing very much,” Williamson said. “Mostly we worked on controlling frustration and setting up properly, then letting him just play,” he said. The strategy worked. “Kylan felt no pressure at all, he played the best in his life,” Kirk Johnson explained. “My game was off but Kylan carried me,” he said. Johnson thanked Williamson and the staff at King’s Ridge for all of their support this year. “Kylan and I have invested many hours pounding balls at the Kings Ridge practice facilities and all the hard work and support of Lee and his staff has finally paid off,” he said.
