Trinity Prep to Host Week-Long 3-D Boys Basketball Camps in June Open to All Central Florida High School, Middle School Athletes
Trinity Prep basketball coach David D. Davis, who will conduct both camps, said he plans to focus on defense, offensive moves at the post and perimeter, and team play.
Session I, June 21-24, is open to incoming 9th through 12th graders. Guest speakers are planned throughout the week and Davis said he plans to focus on NCAA and Clearinghouse details.
“The Boys Basketball Summer Camp is for young men who want to learn to play basketball at the highest level,” Davis said.
Session II, June 28 – July 1 for incoming 5th through 8th graders, will focus on developing the same offensive, defensive and team skills, Davis said.
Parents will be invited to attend camp sessions and each camper will be awarded a Certificate of Participation. Individual awards will include Top Camper, Shell Team Champions, Freethrow King and Knockout King.
Davis said a lunch break is scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. daily and each participant is responsible for bringing his own lunch.
David D. Davis is head basketball coach at Trinity Prep. An outstanding student athlete since high school, Davis was an All Conference performer in three sports at R-S Central High School in North Carolina, including playing for a State championship and runner-up in a basketball team that had a 45-game winning streak. After a stellar college football career, he joined the Houston Oilers of the NFL until knee injuries ended his professional sports career. He has since been counselor for 10 years at summer camps for Duke University and the University of North Carolina and has served as player advisor for the Denver Nuggets of the NBA.

Avalon School of Music Launches Summer Music Camps
ORLANDO, Fla. – Avalon School of Music at Avalon Park in east Orlando has launched a series of music summer camps to offer children of all ages one-week immersion sessions with full-day professional instruction that includes snacks and lunch.
Stephanie Hodson, marketing coordinator at Avalon Park, said the one-week camps cost $275 per student.
Camp themes include Rock Guitar and Exploration, Rock Band, Drums and Percussion, Song writing, and Pop singing, Hodson said. The Camps will be held at all three of the school’s locations with full details available at www.AvalonMusicCenter.com/summer2009.asp
