Area Law Firm Teams Up with Beach 92.7 FM Radio to Sponsor Spectacular Two-Day Independence Day Festivities in Flagler

FLAGLER BEACH – The law firm of Rue & Ziffra once again is a sponsor of Flagler County’s annual Fourth of July Celebration July 3-4 at Flagler Beach and Palm Coast, with dazzling fireworks taking top billing on both days.

Because the 30-year-old personal-injury firm is teaming up with Flagler County’s Beach 92.7 FM radio station to sponsor the “All-American Fourth of July Weekend,” this year’s two-day fireworks display and festival is expected to be the biggest July 4th celebration in Flagler County’s history.

Rue & Ziffra President Allan L. Ziffra said his firm’s annual contribution to the event is part of their pledge to give back to local communities; with many local charities benefitting from the festivities.

“Once again, we’re proud to help sponsor this event,” he said. “It’s just another way of letting the residents know that we at Rue & Ziffra are committed to them and their causes.”

Rue & Ziffra will sponsor a roof-top beach party at Finns on the beach across from the Flagler Beach Pier on Saturday7-3. Live entertainment will be presented all day and Beach 92.7 will offer a chance to win a Tom Gibb Chevy truck and a Parker fishing boat. Fireworks will be launched from the Flagler Beach Pier at nightfall.

Additional Saturday events will include live Reggae music, a watermelon-eating contest, a corn-hole competition, a street festival, the Lil’ Kahuna and Tiny Tiki contests for boys and girls between 3 and 5, and a “Beach Ball Bash Parade,” sponsored by the Flagler Beach Rotary Club.
On Sunday 7-4, Rue & Ziffra will kick off a sunset tailgate party at 7 p.m. at Town Center’s Central Park in Palm Coast, and Beach 92.7 FM will provide music, activities and prizes.

Fireworks, presented by the Flagler County Rotary Club, will be launched from the pier beginning at 9 p.m. Those attending are encouraged to bring along blankets, lawn chairs and coolers, as concessions will be limited.

Avalon Park Elementary School ranks 1st in U.S., 2nd worldwide in World Maths Day competition with 56,000 schools in 235 countries

ORLANDO- Avalon Park Elementary School in East Orlando scored 1st among U.S. schools in the Fourth Annual World Maths Day Competition March 3 and placed 2nd and 8th worldwide competing against students from 56,082 schools in 235 countries.

Pamela J. Sanders, principal at Avalon Park Elementary School, said Avalon Park Elementary took First Place in the U.S. and Second Place worldwide in the Ages 5-8 category behind Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School in Leigh-on-Sea, U.K.

Avalon Park Elementary School fifth-graders placed First among U.S. schools and Eighth in worldwide competition against schools in Malaysia, Estonia, the United Arab Emirates, Netherlands and Canada in the Ages 9-13 category.

“Our students really rose to the occasion and all of us are extremely proud of their outstanding performance,” Ms. Sanders said.

According to the World Maths Day web site (www.WorldMathsDay.com), the 2010 World Maths Competition was open to all schools, grades, and individuals ages 5-8, 9-13 and 14-18 worldwide.

The 2010 World Maths Competition pitted students and student teams around the world in live, web-based games of mental arithmetic. Each game lasted 60 seconds and students could play up to 500 games, earning points for each correct answer.

Beat Kähli, who heads Avalon Park Group and built Avalon Park Elementary School five years ago, said the school’s showing in the World Maths Day Competition is a dream come true.

“Avalon Park Elementary School is blessed with outstanding faculty, staff and administrators and the students have responded with an exhibition of world-class math skills,” Kähli said. “This is something all of Central Florida can be proud,” Kähli said.

Participation in the 2010 World Maths Games was up more than 47 percent over 2009, Kähli said.

Beazer Homes to Host Beazer Spa Day for Jacksonville Realtors at Durbin Crossing in St. Johns

JACKSONVILLE - Beazer Homes will host Beazer’s Spa Day for area Realtors on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at Durbin Crossing, located south of Race Track Rd. off Linda Ave. at 200 Huntston Way in St. Johns.

Daniel Gregory, sales manager for Beazer Homes in the Jacksonville region, said the home builder plans to unveil a host of special incentives for clients and exclusive commission incentives for Realtors.

“We’re going to pamper Realtors with world class spa services, chair massages, manicures, mini facials, pedicures with paraffin dips,” Gregory said, and gentlemen are welcome.

The event will be held from 2 to 6 p.m.

Refreshments will include delicacies such as a cheese display with cheddar and Monterey jack cheese, dried apricot with a blend of goat cheese and honey finished with a candied walnut, feta cheese rolled in fresh parsley, seasoned crostini and grapes, tropical Martinis, Caesar salad croustades, Turkey Tea Sandwiches with winter chutney on sweet potato biscuits and Apple and Walnut Chicken Salad served on mini yeast rolls.

Gregory said mimosas, champagne and red and white wines will also be served.

Admission is free to Jacksonville area Realtors, Gregory said.

Avalon Park to Host Paladin Outa-School Game Day December 19 with Video and Computer Game Demos, Bounce Houses, Food Vendors

ORLANDO, Fla. --- Avalon Park in east Orlando will host a Paladin Outa-School Game Day on Saturday, Dec. 19 with dozens of video and computer game demos, bounce houses, food vendors and fun for the whole family.

Stephanie Hodson, marketing coordinator at Avalon Park, said the event is free and open to all for kids and the young at heart from 3 to 7 p.m.

Hodson said the event will feature new game demonstrations and popular game play that includes Moose in the House; Pokemon; Zombies; Lord of the Rings; Monsterpocalypse; Wii video games and many more.

A tabletop gaming booth will feature game demos and play for younger children, but the bulk of the booth game demos will be for ages 14+ with a number of games that will appeal to high school age and adults, she added.

ORLANDO, Fla. - Avalon Park in east Orlando is seeking sponsors for a community festival and fireworks exhibition that is expected to draw upwards of 20,000 people to Avalon Park on July 4.


Stephanie Hodson, marketing coordinator at Avalon Park Group, said the community festival, scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday July 3, will host a wide variety of events and entertainment, including a hot dog eating contest, an apple pie bake-off and live music.
