Sales of Fuel Efficient Motor Scooters Boom as Gas Prices Rise and Ride Green Scooters Expands Operations
Winter Park, Fla. – Every few minutes, a new customer walks through the door. They don’t always buy immediately, but Brian Schwartz, general manager and chief executive officer of Ride Green Scooters in Winter Park, knows if they don’t they will be back soon.
Schwartz, is selling the Golden Egg — commuter vehicles that get upwards of 100 miles to the gallon of gas.
“Some of our customers ride to work and back for a whole week on a gallon of gas,” Schwartz said.
“With our highly engineered scooters, they can travel on main arteries and thoroughfares like Kirkman Rd. in West Orlando or SR 436 in East Orlando safely and way more economically than any car,” Schwartz said.
Schwartz said sales during one recent week-long period topped 15 scooters that range from the 80 to 100 miles per gallon Jonway Sunny 50 cc model, Ride Green’s smallest and most efficient, to the muscular GMW V-150 model, which can cruise on the Interstate at a healthy 55+ miles per hour and still get a respectable 80 to 100 miles per gallon efficiency.
Best of all, Ride Green’s scooters — Gorilla Motor Works, Jonway, Puma, TnT, Ice Bear and Peace Industries — are priced well below the market waterline established by popular brands such as Vespa.
“For three quarters of the world’s population, our scooters represent the most popular means of transportation,” Schwartz said. “We are better for the environment, better for the highway departments and better for the pocketbook than anything except public transportation, and we are more convenient than public transportation,” Schwartz added.
Schwartz said Ride Green Scooters is moving to new expanded quarters in June.
“We need more space,” Schwartz said. “So we’re tripling our headquarters location and moving directly across the street,” he said.
Ride Green Scooters is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and Sunday by appointment at 671 W. Fairbanks Ave., Winter Park.
