Cuhaci & Peterson Architects Awarded Contracts to Remodel Three Winn-Dixie Supermarkets
Lonnie Peterson, chairman at Cuhaci & Peterson Architects, said one Winn-Dixie is off Roosevelt Blvd. in Key West and is 35,000 square feet.
Another Winn-Dixie remodeling project is off Pine Blvd. in Pembrooke Pines in West Broward County and is 45,000 square feet.
The Apopka Winn-Dixie is a remodeling project to update the store to the new design and when completed will offer 45,000 square feet. That Winn-Dixie is located off Orange Blossom Trail.

Cuhaci & Peterson Architects completes design contract on Southlake Family Health Center in Groveland in Lake County
Lonnie Peterson, chairman at Cuhaci & Peterson, said the Southlake Family Health Center offers 13,800 square feet of professional office space.
The contractor was Rieker Duley of Orlando.
Construction is completed on the facility, Peterson said.

Cuhaci & Peterson Architects Awarded Contracts to Remodel Four Food Lion Stores in Richmond, Ettrick, Va.
ORLANDO, Fla. - Cuhaci & Peterson Architects, LLC, based in Orlando’s Baldwin Park and designs more than one million square feet of retail space annually, was recently awarded contracts to remodel four Food Lion stores in Richmond and Ettrick, Va.

Food Lion LLC awarded the remodeling design contracts as part of Food Lion’s ongoing “Take a Fresh Look” renewal efforts, Peterson said.

Cuhaci & Peterson Architects launches new website to promote energy conservation and smart commercial design

Avalon Park Group Aims at Developing Model Town Center Facility for Adult Independent, Assisted Living
ORLANDO, Fla. - Avalon Park Group has set its sights on developing a model facility in its town center for adult independent and assisted living, with construction expected to start early next year.
Ross Halle, town planner and architect at Avalon Park, said the four-story building may expand to five stories.
The first phase will include 140,000 square feet of space with 130 living units at a cost of approximately $21 million.
Ultimately, the facility will include 265,000 square feet of space at an estimated cost of $35 million, Halle said.
Avalon Park Group has commissioned a design and development team that includes lenders, architects, a construction company and an experienced management firm.
Avalon Park Group selected Winter Park Construction Company to provide pre-design consulting services, Halle said.
Cuhaci & Peterson Architects, LLC of Orlando has been named the project’s architect, and SanMar Management Associates of New York City will provide operations and management services.
Lancaster Pollard of Alpharetta, Ga., will provide lending services for the project.
Halle said the center will provide facilities for independent living and assisted living residents and specialized facilities for the care of alzheimer patients.
“We believe that Avalon Park will provide the foundation for a future that allows seniors to stay connected, healthy, stimulated and active in a larger familiar, safe and secure place with direct access to the civic, commercial, and residential activities occurring daily,” Halle said.

Two Architects at Cuhaci & Peterson Architects Earn LEED Professional Certification For Energy-Efficient Design
ORLANDO, Fla. - Two architects at Cuhaci & Peterson Architects, LLC, based in Orlando’s Baldwin Park, recently earned the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED-AP certification for their expertise in energy efficient design.
Lonnie Peterson, chairman of Cuhaci & Peterson Architects, said Chris Renegar and Carrie Manes earned the USGBC’s LEED-AP professional designation, which recognizes their completion of a rigorous curriculum of study in energy efficient design and environmental quality.
The USGBC LEED-AP curriculum focuses on energy efficient design, specification of durable and energy-efficient construction and finishing materials and use of efficient equipment and appliances.
“The USGBC’s LEED-AP protocol is an important qualification and we have encouraged all of our design staff to participate,” said Peterson.
Renegar joined Cuhaci & Peterson Architects eight years ago. Manes, a graduate architect, joined Cuhaci & Peterson Architects three years ago as an architect intern from Ball State College.
Peterson said the firm now employs 12 LEED-AP certified professionals and expects that will increase to 15 before the end of the year.
