ATLANTA, Ga. --- The Newmark Knight Frank Southeast Capital Markets Group headed by veteran Whitney Knoll, has appointed J. Mark Hillis principal.
Knoll, a principal of the group said Hillis has more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate with transactions valued at more than $8 billion across all property types including office, retail, industrial, multi-family and hotels.
“Mark Hillis is one of the most experienced senior capital market specialists in the U.S.,” Knoll said. “We are delighted he has joined the Southeast Capital Markets Group her at NKF and we expect him to play a major role in our continued growth,” Knoll said.
Hillis will focus on investment sales and capital market transactions, in addition to executive responsibilities within the Southeast Capital Markets Group.
Hillis formerly served as a senior managing director of Cushman & Wakefield’s Capital Markets Group Investment Sales Division, and as executive director at Morgan Stanley predecessor companies Equitable Real Estate and Lend Lease, where he was in charge of dispositions nationally and multi-family acquisition in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Hillis co-led the team that acquired the $1.5 billion Town & Country Trust (NYSE: TCT), a multi-family REIT.
