PALM COAST – On Sept. 11, the Port Orange-based law firm of Rue & Ziffra will sponsor the 911 Memorial Ride and Service to mark the 10-year anniversary of the September 11 tragedy headed by the Red Knights Motorcycle Club Florida Chapter 11.
The free event – which starts at the Flagler Government Service Building, 1769 E. Moody Blvd., Building 2 in Bunnell – will begin with rider registration at 9:30 a.m., and be followed by a memorial service to honor fallen heroes at 10:30 a.m., according to Allan L. Ziffra, president of the personal-injury law firm.
“We’re very happy to sponsor this annual memorial event and pay tribute to our fellow firefighters and American heroes,” said Ziffra, whose firm has several motorcycle riding attorneys who will be participating.
Kick stands will go up at 11:15 when the all-day motorcycle run leaves for a 67-mile ride along State Road 100, U.S. Highway 1, State Road 206, State Road A1A, John Anderson Drive, Walter Boardman Drive, Old Dixie Highway, and Pine Run.
The police-escorted bike run, which is expected to end at The White Eagle Lounge on U.S. Highway 1, will include food, beverages and live entertainment.
“We hope the community will participate in the run and attend the memorial service to show their support for the fallen and the heroes of Sept. 11, 2001,” Ziffra said.
