Central Florida Cyclist sets record at Florida Start Time Trials Championship in OLustee, Cyclist sponsored by First Green Bank

Mount Dora, Fla. --- Steven Perezluha, the 21-year old Central Florida cycling phenomenon sponsored by First Green Bank in Mount Dora, won the Florida Road Cycling Association’s Florida State Time Trial Championship in Olustee after turning in the fastest time of day and setting a new record for cyclists under the age of 23. Perezluha, who raced his bicycle from Oceanside, Calif. 3,000 miles across America to Annapolis, Md. in the grueling 12-day Race Across America last summer, finished the 24.8-mile Florida State Time Trial course in 52:09, beating his previous record by 1:04. Kenneth LaRoe, chairman of First Green Bank and an avid cycling enthusiast, said Perezluha trains for his races on country roads all over Lake County. “Lake County offers such a great resource for cyclists training and competing at the highest level and it’s just as valuable for casual weekend riders,” LaRoe said. Perezluha is a member of First Green Bank's Endurance Athletic Team.
