ICI Homes Plays Starring Role in Goodall Family Home Project to Aid Father of Five Who Has Lou Gehrig’s Disease

Jacksonville, Fla. --- ICI Homes played a starring role in the Builders Care project by the Northeast Florida Builders Association to expand the family home of Jacksonville resident Kenny Goodall, his expectant wife and their five children. Don Wilford, president of ICI Homes in Northeast Florida, said The Florida Theater in Jacksonville will premier Building a Difference, a documentary produced about the building project, with a special screening on Nov. 17. When Wilford heard Kenny Goodall’s story---the strapping six-footer had to put off buying a new home for his growing family when he learned he has ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease---Wilford joined with the Northeast Florida Builders Association’s Builders Care volunteers to give the Goodall Home a total redo, adding more bedroom space and living space. The project, which took five weeks, resulted in a home that is large enough for the whole Goodall family, Wilford said, and it brought the home builder community together once again. “We wanted to give Kenny some ‘peace of mind,’ but none of us were aware how deeply this project would affect all of us,” Wilford said.
