WINDERMERE, Fla. --- The Men’s Golf Assn. at the Golden Bear Club at Keene’s Pointe in Windermere recently donated used golf equipment worth more than $5,000 to the Fairways for Warriors program, which helps returning military veterans recover from their wounds and disabilities and readjust to civilian life with golf outings. Matthew Allen, general manager and director of golf at the Golden Bear Club, said donations included 10 sets of irons, nine golf bags, 20 drivers and fairway woods and about 3,000 golf balls. Allen emphasized that Celebration Golf Management, which operates Golden Bear Golf Club, supports the Wounded Warriors project at all its facilities with free rounds of golf, lessons and fundraising golf tournaments.
