Musool Academy Martial Artists Earn 25 Medals in AAU Florida Taekwondo Qualifying Competition at Daytona Beach Ocean Center

Daytona Beach, Fla. --- MuSool Academy at 5889 South Williamson Blvd. in Port Orange was one of the biggest winners at the recent AAU Florida Taekwondo Qualifying Competition at Daytona Beach Ocean Center. Melbourne native Shelby Creech, Sa Beom Nim (Master Instructor) at MuSool Academy, said the popular martial arts dojang racked up 25 medals in the competition, including nine gold medals, 10 silver and six bronze. “Our kids were just awesome,” Creech said. The event marked a major milestone for MuSool Academy: big wins in the forms competition. Martial arts in general and Taekwondo in particular focus on two ways to exhibit skills---poomse, also called forms or patterns, and sparring. “MuSool Academy students have always posted strong points in the sparring events,” Creech said. “This year MuSool Academy students earned 10 medals---including three golds---for forms,” Creech said. “That’s a first for us and it’s an important benchmark in our growth as a dojang,” he said. Winners in AAU Florida Competition in Daytona Beach are now eligible to compete in the 2013 AAU Taekwondo Nationals July 1-6 in Fort Lauderdale, Creech said.
