ORLANDO, Fla. --- Blackton, Inc., the Orlando area’s oldest building supply company and one of the region’s largest providers of roofing and flooring products for home buyers, recently earned contracts valued at more than $20 million to provide roofing and flooring materials to seven home builders in Orlando, Daytona Beach, the Disney area, Tampa and Clearwater.
Micky Blackton, chairman and Sean Monett, president, said the contracts include materials for planned construction of more than 2,000 new single-family homes and townhomes in 39 communities over the next 12 months.
The contracts include:
* 500 new homes Meritage Homes plans to build in the Orlando and Tampa markets;
* Three communities by Celebrity Resorts in Orlando and Clearwater;
* Eight new subdivisions by KB Home in Orlando, Daytona Beach and Tampa;
* Avatar Homes at Bella Pointe in Kissimmee;
* Four new contracts for new Florida communities by Maronda Homes;
* RB Marks Construction’s two projects - Lake Cecile Townhomes and Primrose School of Lake Nona in East Orlando.
* Cornell Homes at Damai at World Gateway in Lake Buena Vista near Disney.
“We have seen a marked increase in sales over the past six months and we expect to see significant growth over the next six to nine months in Central Florida,” Blackton said.
“This trend is a clear indicator that many home builders, including some of the biggest national builders, project a stronger recovery for housing,” Monett added.
