ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – First Green Bank headquartered in Mount Dora, will celebrate the Grand Opening of its Ormond Beach branch banking office at 175 Granada Blvd. in Ormond Beach on June 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Kenneth LaRoe, chairman and chief executive officer of First Green Bank, said First Green Bank of Ormond Beach is the Lake County based community bank’s first branch outside of Lake County.
LaRoe said First Green Bank in Ormond Beach will officially mark its Grand Opening with public events, entertainment, food and beverages.
The branch bank facility, which opened for business in February, has already undergone upgrades to increase water conservation and provide more energy efficient appliances and lighting, according to Jim Hester, market executive for Volusia County.
LaRoe, who helped create the bank’s “green” approach to customer service and sustainability, said there’s more work to be done.
First Green Bank has earned high praise for its unique positioning as a customer-centered community bank with a mission to respect the environment.
Recently named Florida’s Green Company of the Year for 2011 by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Central Florida Chapter, First Green Bank offers a wide range of sustainable practices. Its new Mount Dora World Headquarters is only the second privately constructed commercial building in Florida to qualify for the Green Building Council’s Platinum LEED designation for environmentally sustainable design, construction and materials.
