PORT ORANGE – Attorney Matthew John Mitchell, a Volusia County native, has re-joined the personal-injury law firm of Rue & Ziffra after spending the past two years at firms in South and Central Florida.
Mitchell – who worked for Rue & Ziffra from 2008 to 2010 – most-recently practiced consumer credit and debtor’s rights litigation at a Central Florida-based firm. Prior to that, he was a commercial and contract litigator in South Florida, according to Luis Gracia, a partner at Rue & Ziffra.
“We’re very excited to have Matthew back with our firm,” Gracia said. “He now has a varied legal background, and having grown up in Volusia County he brings a familiarity that usually only comes with years of practicing in one location.”
Born and raised in Ormond Beach, Mitchell graduated summa cum laude from Seabreeze High School in 2001. He received a double major with honors in less than four years from the University of Florida, before receiving his Juris Doctorate from The Florida State University College of Law in 2008.
Licensed to practice in all Florida state courts and the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, Mitchell now practices personal-injury law exclusively.
When he isn’t arguing cases, he devotes much of his personal time to outdoor recreation and sporting events, as he is an avid supporter of both the Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles athletic programs.
