First Green Bank Named one of the 100 Best Places to Work in the U.S. by National Magazine

MOUNT DORA, Fla. – First Green Bank, the Lake County-based bank that ranks as one of the greenest banks in the U.S., was recently named one of the best places to work in the U.S. by a national publication — Outside Magazine.

Kenneth LaRoe, chairman and chief executive officer of First Green Bank, said the bank ranked among the magazines’ Top 100 Best Places to Work.

Outside’s “Best Places to Work” project celebrates a new standard for a healthy work-life balance. The list was compiled with the help of the Outdoor Industry Association and Best Companies Group.

The year long selection process began with the outreach efforts that identified a wide range of non-profit and for-profit organizations with at least 15 employees working in an office in the United States.

Participating companies were sent confidential employee-satisfaction surveys and employer-questionnaires to collect information about benefits, compensation, policies, job satisfaction, environmental initiatives and community outreach programs. Outside Magazine secretly interviewed all the bank’s 52 workers.

The experts at the Best Companies then analyzed the results and selected the companies that best enable employees to pursue active lifestyles while also supporting their social and environmental contributions.

LaRoe said First Green Bank plans to open a new branch facility in Downtown Orlando this year and a location in Winter Park next year.

Outside Magazine is published in Santa Fe, New Mexico and has a circulation well over 600,000.
